Jereh Lands the Biggest LNG Fueling Stations Order to Date

Yantai/July 23th, 2019/Jereh won the bid for 10 LNG fueling stations in Russia, which is believed to be the biggest order for LNG fueling within Russian market till now. Jereh is going to provide integrated services for this project covering modular design, procurement, manufacture, as well as commissioning. Its total fueling capacity is estimated to reach 500 million litre one year, which will strongly bolster local LNG supply.

The whole project will be delivered in this September and put into use a month later, in October.

According to Oil and Gas Journal, Russia holds the largest natural gas reserves in the world and is the second-largest producer of dry natural gas. Almost 90% of Russia’s natural gas exports were delivered to customers in Europe via pipeline. And the civilian use of liquefied natural gas is relatively lagging due to high financial input brought by natural gas pipeline infrastructure.

In 2018, Russian government decided to subsidize civilian-use of LNG with the aim to benefit both local environment and natural gas export. Ferry and train will make it way cheaper and more flexible to transport liquefied natural gas. In this way, LNG market can be greatly boosted and export volume shall soar.

For heavy truck owners, LNG is more affordable compared with diesel fuel by saving almost half of the cost. However, limited number of fueling stations in local areas has constrained the development of LNG industry.

Nevertheless, market demand and government policy is certain to spark a breaking-out LNG market in the near future.

For this project, metering accuracy, reliable quality and steady performance were highly accentuated by the client. Jereh hence conducted customized design that fueling station and control room are integrated into two 20-feet containers respectively, leaving it more compact and more convenient for transportation.

The location of the project requires sophisticated and reliable LNG technology for transportation. Mr. Wang Fei, manager of the project said, “We own a self-developed process that targets integrated design and are able to provide shorter delivery period, lower financial input with less space occupation. Equipped with leading modular manufacturing capability, global sourcing platform and international project management system, Jereh guarantees our client a truly turn-key engineering project.”
