Facilitating China's Shale Gas Development with New Technologies

A new direction for China's petroleum industry has come into the spotlight in recent years, highlighting shale gas exploration which is though hard to extract yet with rich reserves.

It is proved that China has the largest shale gas reserve with a total explored amount of over 1 trillion m3, equivalent to 35.31 trillion ft3. As a result, the demand of shale gas exploration and production is ramping up at an amazing pace.

Mountainous Sichuan and Shaanxi Provinces are the main battlefields of China's shale gas development. However, winding roads and steep terrains there only add to the difficulty of operation.

Jereh, as a leading oil & gas equipment manufacturer, has already managed to overcome these challenges by developing an innovative Apollo turbine frac pumper that features bigger power, longer operating time but with a more compact size.

It adopted a 5600 hp turbine engine for the first time, which was usually applied to helicopters. Anyhow, the result turned out to be quite pleasing since Apollo is capable of doubling the efficiency of shale gas extraction compared to regular counterparts.

The launch of Apollo was historically significant as it had the maximum power output of 4,500hhp, surpassing the ones in U.S. and Russia.

Last year, CCTV (China Central Television) shed light on the story of Jereh and Apollo in its documentary the Pillars of a Great Power and once again proved Apollo a meaningful and marvelous creation.

As shale gas business keeps booming in China, Jereh aims to take shale gas production and efficiency to the next level. That's why Jereh has spent years on developing cutting-edge equipment with electric technologies.

At cippe 2018, Jereh unveiled the electric frac skid to the public, which received rave reviews for achieving the highest power density with much less power being consumed.

With continuous optimization of design and technologies, equipment powered by electricity is going take a dominant position. This April, Jereh is ready to launch another new product featuring electric technology. What kind of surprises will it bring to the industry, let's wait and see!
