On July 6th, 2014, Jereh Group’s application for the membership in the Global Compact was successfully accepted by United Nations. This participation in the Global Compact demonstrates Jereh’s commitment in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.
Launched in July 2000, the UN Global Compact was first proposed by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in 1999, which is committed to encouraging businesses worldwide to comply with the ten principles, and join together to reduce the happening of negative actions and achieve collective goals of international cooperation, peace and development. With over 12,000 corporate participants from over 145 countries, the Global Compact is now the largest voluntary corporate responsibility initiative in the world, including big players of Shell, ExxonMobil, CNPC and Sinopec.
